 Annual Conference Minimize

Chairperson: Val Murphy Goodrich - City of Dearborn vmurphy@ci.dearborn.mi.us.
This committee plans the annual training conference held at Shanty Creek in Bellaire.  Members are involved in identifying topics, scheduling speakers and planning social activities.

The 2009 conference is scheduled for September 16-18, 2009.  There is a golf outing on Wednesday morning, followed by a late lunch.  The President's welcome is usually around 3:30.  There is a reception following the afternoon sessions, where you can meet with friends and plan where to have dinner.  Dress is casual for training sessions and most events, but some attendees like to wear business attire for the President's Dinner on Thursday night.  The legal update on Friday morning is usually packed due to the high-quality speakers and content.

You can register online or download a registration form on the meetings page.

If you have any questions about the conference, send an email to Val or any of the Board members.

MPELRA has been working with Michigan State University's School of Labor and Industrial Relations to develop a searchable database of collective bargaining contracts to replace MPELRA's Contract Databank. The MSU Contract database, along with information on how to submit your collective bargaining contracts to the archives, can be found at http://turf.lib.msu.edu/awards/contractsindex.html

------

Grand Valley State University has launched a new site dedicated to grievance arbitration awards, and it needs the help of MPELRA members to get arbitrators to send them in. Go to www.gvsu.edu/arbitrations for details

------

Portions of the new MPELRA website are still under construction, so please bear with us if something is not quite finished yet. If you have any comments, suggestions or even frustrations, please feel free to email the webmaster@mpelra.org and let us know how we can improve the site.
